What's up Bjorn!! All in all you think we are on the same page. I'm sure we sit on the same side of most of these issues. All I was trying to say was that (going back to your example) if I was in the military fighting for my country and my country is killing innocent people for its own capitol gain, and I don't know about it. If I am fighting a war under completely false pretenses because what I personally am fighting for is what I believe in. From my perspective, I am doing the right thing. I am fighting for my country. I am being patriotic. I am defending my home and my heritage. I believe my country is doing the right thing and I trust every move they make. It's what I understand. It's what I have grown up to believe in and there is nothing that can make me think different.

From another perspective this person may be wrong, but from his perspective he is right. This holds true throughout history and conflict in general. Shit, Priscilla holds another perspective on a lot of things.

Well that is a very deep blogpost. I have to disagree with it though. Yes indeed, perspective is everything. However there is definitely a difference between right and wrong that supersedes perspective. If someone does something for their own gain or even if they think it will be good for everyone but ends up killing or hurting millions of people then it is not necessarily the right thing to do. For instance, would it be right for a country to kill thousands of innocent people to create an excuse to kill more in another country just so that they can sell more weapons or contracts for rebuilding what they destroy and at the same time remove liberties from people in both countries with the lie that it will make everyone safer? Would it be just a matter of perspective on whether those people are wrong or the people that fight back against that kind of aggression are wrong? I don't think so. I think that if your perspective sides with neither or with the ones who started the aggression then there is something wrong with you. Anyway, that's just MY perspective. ;)

I'll leave off with a quote from Benjamin Franklin who said, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. "
