| As Halloween is fast approaching, I thought I should continue to write about the everlasting list of bad horror movies that litter the shelves of the continuously dying video store. As you know, I am a connoisseur of Bad horror movies and I thought I might bring some more to your attention. These bad horror movies are some of my favorites and some I have just recently found out about. So this Halloween pick your movies wisely cause you wouldn’t want to actually sit around on Halloween and watch a good horror movie.

Troll 2
A young child is terrified to discover that a planned family trip is to be haunted by vile man-eating monsters out of his worst nightmare. His attempt to save his beloved family is assisted by the spectre of his deceased grandfather. Also, there are NO trolls in this movie, only goblins.
I originally heard about this movie in a magazine that explained that there was Bad Horror Movie convention some where in the North East that was based on this movie. After renting this movie, I have got to say I understand why such an event could be based on one bad movie. This movie has the worst acting, the worst story, the worst script of all time. Over all it doesn’t even make a whole lot of sense. It was awesome. |

The Ghoulies
A young man and his girlfriend move into the man’s old mansion home, where he becomes possessed by a need to control ancient demons.
I remember seeing this movie on the shelves of Blockbuster back when I was a kid, but I never rented it. I’m not sure sure why because it is a classic. It basically is a Gremlins clone but done in a much cheesier way. Bad hand puppets and midgets. You can’t get any better than that. |

Jason X : Jason in Space
Set way in the future, Earth is no longer inhabitable, so humans have colonized in outer space. One colony receives two cryogenically frozen bodies, and when they defrost them, one of the bodies turns out to be…..who else? Jason Voorhees. No longer in the forest or Camp Crystal Lake, Jason stalks the colonists in a whole new environment.
I have to say that Friday the 13th is my all time favorite horror series. It’s just got all the basic components of a classic slasher. But on the 10th one, they decided to mix things up a bit. Jason in Space is pretty much ridiculous in every way. Jason not only finds himself in the future on some crazy spaceship, he also gets a super charged makeover in the end of the movie. What else can you ask for? |

They Live
Nada, a down-on-his-luck construction worker, discovers a pair of special sunglasses. Wearing them, he is able to see the world as it really is: people being bombarded by media and government with messages like “Stay Asleep”, “No Imagination”, “Submit to Authority”. Even scarier is that he is able to see that some usually normal-looking people are in fact ugly aliens in charge of the massive campaign to keep humans subdued.
Now I hadn’t heard about this movie til just recently, but I have to say that this one is one of the best bad horror movies I have seen. It’s actually so entertaining, it actually is leaning towards just a damn good movie by itself. Remember Rowdie Roddy Piper from the eighties wrestling? Well he’s the star and can see aliens thorough these magical sunglasses. This movie has some of the best one liners ever written. |
I recently finished a website for JWT Team Detroit. They are actually a branch of JWT here in Atlanta with an interesting name. The website is for Georgia Saturdays which is a collaboration with the University of Georgia football head coach Mark Richt and Ford. Anyway, I constructed all the flash and helped in the design. I did all the animations and coding throughout. I added a form on the back end and included simple downloads on the download page. Here is the link: http://www.indigostudios.com/georgiasaturdays

The thought since I have almost never added artwork to this blog, I should start. I haven’t done anything that cool lately, so I will add this one. I did this job for Indigo Studios and Function here in Altanta. Just some of my retouching skills at work.

OK, so I know it’s wrong. I know it’s technically stealing. I know that it’s probably not the smartest thing to be writing about in this blog, but I’m going to because it’s real. People do it. I love to download. I have been a downloader since I could run a computer. But I ALWAYS buy the software or music before I downloaded anything. Because if I didn’t, it would really be stealing.
It all started back in 1997.
I remember downloading my first mp3 ever. Given this was back when artist gave them out for free on their own websites. Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”. Yep an instant classic. Now that song will forever be etched in my memory. Torn was the first with many to follow. After I got a taste, I was hooked. Me and my best friend Joe somehow figured this shit out. See, back in 96′ there was no Napster, no Kazaa, no Bit Torrent to make peer to peer transfers though an open source network. No, we had to do it the old fashion way. We used backend America Online chat rooms to download hundreds of files that were almost like puzzle pieces. Once we have all the pieces downloaded, we use another program to piece them all together. This became a extremely frustrating process because if you spent three days downloading a hundred files and then realized you were missing one. The game wouldn’t work. It was fun though, and I did it a lot. Most of the time the shit didn’t even work, but I loved the hunt. I used to sit and just scan though giant lists of files I knew I could have if I wanted.
But then, there was an upgrade. Napster. Oh, how we all loved Napster. The one thing about Napster was that everyone found out about it and honestly, the program sucked. I used Kazaa and that sucked too. But the thing that it did bring was attention. Now, you might think that this is a bad thing, but it was the opposite. Downloading hit mainstream running. Music artist complained, record execs tried to shut it all down. There were ads about piracy everywhere. The funny thing about the whole thing is, is all the press just made people realize that they could download stuff. It started a revolution.
So then the next phase of downloading came. The death of Napster. It got so much press it was ridiculous. Man, I guess we will all have to start buying music again. Um, no. Actually the funniest thing about the fall of Napster, is that all the Napster clones were alive and kicking and by for more superior to napster when it died. Even funnier still, was they were already obsolete, because the next phase had already begun.
Bit Torrent. I’m not going to say much about it, but it’s awesome. It’s an open source Peer to Peer network that uses separate address files to connect your computer to several others and download at your convince. It’s by far the best way to go. And the crazy thing is, is that it will one day be obsolete and there will be a “Next Phase”. It’s only a matter of time.
The History Channel has significantly changed in the last couple of years in a way I could never imagine. It became something that actually made me interested in history. Now, I’m not one to get in to the history of the Civil War like my Father in Law or the many battles of the Nazis vs USA in WW2. I’m hooked on this little show called The Universe. It’s brought me back to my childhood and made me want to be an astronaut all over again. It’s given me new ways to fantasize about traveling to far off galaxies to meet those little green men we all know so well. But most of all its given me a new perspective on life.
The Universe is a extremely big place and we are really really really small in comparison. Now, I know that a lot of this show is theoretical, but with technology today (stuff I know nothing about ) scientist can get a pretty clear idea of how and when existence began. They have come to several conclusion on how our earth and moon was originally created, how our solar system was originally created and how our universe was originally created. Not to mention how old they are and their history. How about when life first began on earth and the chances of similar life on other planets.
I love things that push my way of thinking. Things that stretch my brain to new boundaries. Things that make me see things clearer and in a new light. This show does just that in so many ways. Here are three of my favorite episodes: |
 |
Mars. The Red Planet
This episode is awesome because it talks about possible water and possible life on Mars. Plus, it looks at our chances of possibly traveling to mars.
Mars is the planet in our solar system most similar to Earth despite otherworldly features such as the largest volcano in the Solar System. NASA orbiters and rovers discover new evidence of frozen water just beneath the rusty soil. Cutting-edge computer graphics are used to show what life would be like on Mars, and to imagine what kind of life forms might evolve in alien atmospheres. |
 |
Dark Matter
Scientists have no idea what it is, but Dark Matter and Dark Energy make up 96% of the Universe. Dark Matter is everywhere. It passes through everything we know on earth at billions of particles every second, yet no one has ever gotten a direct detection of this mysterious dark substance. An even more bewildering force is Dark Energy, which is rapidly pushing apart our Universe. Discovered only ten years ago, scientists are struggling to comprehend its unusual characteristics and answer the ultimate question; what is the fate of our Universe? Using cutting-edge computer graphics watch as the universe is brought down to earth.
Maybe this shit is God? It holds the universe together. |

|
Beyond the Big Bang
The universe began with a massive expansion, billions and billions of years ago, and it continues to expand with every passing second. The idea that the universe, and man’s very existence, began with a “Big Bang” is no longer a topic of debate among most scientists–it is essentially taken as fact. How has man come to this conclusion, and how has our knowledge evolved so that we can recreate the very first seconds of our universe and all that has developed since? Interviews with the world’s leading physicists and historians are woven together with animated recreations and first-person accounts to explain concepts such as the formation of galaxies, the creation of elements and the formation of Earth itself. |

Search for ET
In a galaxy filled with a billion stars, in a universe filled with a hundred billion galaxies–are we alone? SETI–the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence–is a privately funded project using radio telescopes and optical telescopes to scan the stars for signals. NASA is planning missions to Mars, Jupiter’s sixth moon, Europa, and Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, to look for primitive, microbial life in ice concentrations. Whether we discover primitive or intelligent life, how will that knowledge impact humankind’s view of itself? Cutting-edge computer graphics are used to bring the universe down to earth to show what life would be like on other planets, and to imagine what kind of life forms might evolve in alien atmospheres. |
 |
Gravity
Gravity is the most powerful and exacting force in the universe. It is pervasive and penetrating. Gravity binds us together, its reach hangs stars in the sky and its grip crushes light. Gravity holds planets together, and leashes them to their suns. Without gravity, stars, comets, moons, nebulae, and even the Earth itself would not exist. Explore how science and humanity discovered, overcame and utilized gravity. Learn what it takes to propel objects into the heavens, to ride a wave or to ski down a slope. Take a front row seat as an astronaut subjects himself to the weightless wonders of the specially modified aircraft used to train astronauts known as the “Vomit Comet.” |

Can someone explaing to me why Plaid Shorts are cool. Please. I am the owner of three pairs now and still don’t really get it. I’m not saying they don’t look good. I’m just saying they are pretty much the opposite of cool when I was in highschool. I know trends cycle and change over time, so I guess I’m just getting old. I could bet money that Plaid Pants will be in style soon and I can borrow my grandpas old golf pants to fit in. He would be so proud.
