I got a Wii.  It’s awesome and you should get one.  Yeah, I like video games as much as the average 12 year old.  But, I don’t care.  I still got a smoking hot wife.

I also have a chip in my Wii.  It’s better then awesome.  It’s called the Wiikey and you can legally buy it on the internet for $39.95.  You can even install it legally yourself.  So this is NOT something illegal.  It specifically says Wiikey is used to play back bought games.  So you can duplicate your games and play the duplicate copies so your original ones stay silky and smooth.  It’s all a bunch of BS though.  Most people use Wiikey to download games off the internet, burn them to DVD and play them.  I don’t do that because that would be stealing.

However,  I do own over a hundred “copies of games”.  I get every game there is to have. Most of the time,  I download them and play them once and move on to the next.  Don’t get me wrong, I still invest in the Wii franchise.  I have all the controllers (which are extremely overpriced)  I have a dance pad, a guitar for Guitar Hero, two Wii remotes with a charging station, two Wii Numchuks,  a Classic Controller and a gun.  I’m going to get the Wii Fit pad too, but it’s a little hard to find these days.

So after saying all that, I do have to say though, that as good as the Wii is, it has a way to go on it’s quality of games.  I mean there are literally maybe five super good games for the Wii.  They are: Zelda, Mario Sunshine, Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Guitar Hero 3.

I need a PS3, but as of right now there is no chip for the new Playstation.  Yo better believe I’ll have been when they do.

23 designs wedding planning

So if you didn’t already know, I’m getting married on July 19, 2008 to the beautiful Priscilla Henson at Park Tavern in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia.  We are having around 200 guest.  This is going to be a big wedding.  It’s going to be a lot of time, money and organization to pull everything off with out a hitch.

Honestly, when I first contemplated the idea of marriage I had no idea what wedding planning really  involved.  Originally I had the “Take the money and run” idea, which basically means taking all the money her parents were going to use on the wedding and use it as a down payment on a new house.  Well, as you can imagine, Priscilla had other plans.  She wanted the big wedding.  She wanted the sparklers, the limos, the big church, the soloists, the extravagant flowers, and she wanted me to be there the whole way through.

Now when it comes to the average groom’s part in planning a wedding, they usually sit back and watch as the stressed out bride makes all the decisions and never asks for the grooms opinion. That is because they really don’t want it in the first place.  Well Priscilla would have no part in that.  Priscilla has a little problem with making big decisions by herself.  I was at the meeting with the florist.  I was at the meeting with the church director.  I was at the meeting with the church music director, in which I specifically remember him say, “Wow, we don’t get many grooms in here!”.  I was at all of these meetings and gave me full opinion every time.  (not that anyone listened to my opinion)  I was there for Priscilla the entire time and honestly, I am glad that I did.

I see it like this:  It’s my wedding too.  My family and friends are traveling 2,500 miles to be here in Atlanta for me.  To support me and Priscilla  and watch us take the big plunge into the unknown.  I am truly gratefully for all the money they all have to spend for the sole reason I decided to move to the East Coast.  I want to  show these people the absolute best time ever.  And as it’s looking right now, we are going to get pretty damn close to that mark.

So as I am writing this, we still have a lot to do.  Actually, we have more than that.  We have a shit load to do.  But mostly now we have a lot to manage.  We set up the rehearsal dinner.  We set up the reception with the dj, the florist, the food, the limos, and all the rest I can’t think of.  Now we have to make sure they all mesh together and fall into place when and where they are supposed to.  And I have all the confidence that they will, but I will still worry.  Priscilla has taught me well on how to worry. She will worry more.

Atlanta 14th Street Bridge

So I have lived in Atlanta for about eight years now and I can truly say that this is NOT the city I originally moved to. This city changes more times then any other city I have ever seen. I mean I go back to Sacramento at least twice and year for a couple of days at a time and I see buildings and houses I’ve never seen before. But when I get back from Atlanta after those two or three days, I see full skyscrapers I’ve never seen before. I remember empty abandoned parking lots that now have high rise condos for sale. I’ve seen hip Midtown dance clubs leveled and giant thirty story hotels put in it’s place. Just recently I moved from Buckhead to Vinings and every time I go back there is another street corner gone. Now all Buckhead is is a giant hole in the ground, waiting for high end store front shopping to go in.

Atlanta 14th Street Bridge

But recently Atlanta decided to take a bad traffic situation and make a really bad traffic mess by tearing down the whole 14th Street Bridge and build a new one. Now I know this is going to be nice when it’s finished. I know it will make my commute better in the long run. I know I should just be happy they are making the city better for the future. But man does it suck. Not only does it suck because 75 South is pretty much slammed everyday I drive to work. It sucks because I am getting married in July and my whole wedding guest list is staying in Midtown. Not to mention they are all from out of town. I just hope that all their navigation systems know about all the detours. It will be a mess anyway, so hopefully most people will take the streets and stay away from the highways.

Atlanta 14th Street Bridge

So I did a little research and found some cool new photos of the new 14th Street Bridge. It will have “Several enhancements will be made to improve aesthetics, functionality, and safety in the corridor.

• Midtown’s streetscape palette will be extended throughout the 14th Street corridor and will include wider sidewalks, new street trees, decorative lighting, pavers and street furniture. The bridge itself will have decorative fencing and light pylons to enhance the pedestrian experience.
• The 14th Street corridor will contain a median extending from Fowler Street to West Peachtree Street to improve safety and help beautify this major gateway to Midtown. The medians will bplanted with seasonal flowers, trees, and shrubs and will be maintained by Midtown Alliance.
• A slip ramp will be created on the west side of the connector for southbound vehicles from I-85 that are exiting to 10th Street. Vehicles will no longer”

So I guess it’s cool for now. They never even gave a estimated finish date so I assume this will be going on for years to come. But downtown will be nicer. It should accommodate all the new high rise condos they will be building in the oncomings years. So I can’t complain too much.

OK OK. So This is not really 23 Designs blog. This is a blog about me. Dave Caselli. I mean, I do operate under 23 Designs as a freelancer so i guess this could be considered a 23 Designs blog. But this blog is more about me. I am going to post about things in my life. Not only things that I do everyday, (cause that would be boring) it’s going to be about my life and everything that happens to get in my way. It’s going to be about Indigo Studios and the ongoing drama a small office can dish up. It’s going to be about Atlanta, Georgia and the fact that I moved here from 2,508 miles away in Sacramento, California. It’s going to be about the fact that I am not a writer and I can’t spell to save my life.(thank you spell checker) It’s going to be about my up incoming wedding on July 19th to my wonderful finance Priscilla Henson. It’s going to about all that AND it’s going to be about 23 Designs and my freelance career. So if you want, you can say that it’s about 23 Designs, but it’s not. It’s about that and a whole lot more.
